The Results

Improve personal, organizational and brand performance.

The Premise

Differentiation and relevance – not awareness – make a brand strong and keep it strong. You can’t build awareness without having something to build it on.

The Risk

Are you willing to face your ground truth? Once you face it, then you can decide what really matters and understand how to act on it.

The Journey

Getting to the core of your belief system is a journey. Some of it is literary investigation. Some of it is deep soul searching to uncover the meaning of who you are, what you do, what makes you different, and why that matters.

The Transformation

You will possess:

  • Clarity of purpose and understanding of your difference
  • Unity of vision and strategy
  • Message impact and consistency
  • Confidence and passion to overcome any challenge

Who needs it?

Purpose-driven organizations, leaders and professionals working in both the private and public sector need these results. People who are dealing with change and charged with communicating shared purpose across borders need these tools.

Unique transformational experiences that will inspire you, help you define your higher purpose, and unleash your power to make the difference you were put on this Earth for.

OFFERING

Brand building, clarifying and energizing programs for small- and medium-sized business and arts-based non profit organizations.

  • Conducting Organizational Story Audits that uncover your brand DNA, brand driver, and over-arching story themes.
  • Facilitating Brand Building Workshops that help you create the brand narrative–the deep well from which your communications strategy and marketing campaigns spring.
  • Creating Brand Management Systems and Communications Platforms that connect with your natural audience down deep where they make important decisions…emotionally.

THE JOURNEY

  • The Story Audit—interviews and focus groups with stakeholders. Responses become the raw material for a more compelling organizational narrative.

  • The Synthesizing—we use literary knowledge and theater experience to make meaning from your words and ideas.
  • The Narrative—we create the story of your vision (or higher purpose) and why that matters, in three-acts.
  • The Platform—concepts, themes, and talking points that connect with your audiences and create conversations across a variety of integrated media.

THE DIFFERENCE

I’m the only brand strategist who is a playwright and theater director. I’ve cracked the code how to connect with audiences down deep where they make critical decisions…emotionally.

In theater, what we do to prepare actors for their performances has so much value to them, many actors work for free. That is, they rehearse 3 hours a night after a full day at work, and perform all weekend for the pleasure and privilege of working together on an exciting story.

During this process time stops and consciousness expands. The rehearsal process and rituals of live performance are both the reward and the destination.

Knowing what you really want and why it matters helps both actors and business people perform better.

WHAT THAT MEANS TO YOU

I bring this magic to your branding experience.

From this well—called your story—springs forth an endless flow of ideas, talent and energy leading to profitable new opportunities and offerings

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT BETTER BRAND STORY

“Peter helped 500 Clown grow up. He saw our work as an audience member and understood it deeply — very quickly. He guided us to understand our brand through amazingly creative and challenging work. In fact, the way he matched us as a creative thinker allowed us to trust him completely. He was tough with us too, and his work has produced results with lasting consequences. He turned us on to our brand story so furiously that we doubled the volume of business in one year. Another effect of his work with us was to galvanize the company interpersonally on a new and richer level.”

Adrian Danzig, Artistic Director, 500 Clown

“Peter’s unique method of developing the institutional story based on focus groups and key stakeholder interviews created the backbone for presetting the new vision of the college in a compelling way to prospective donors.”

“It was an energizing exercise that helped prompt a diverse group to start thinking more seriously about the Knox story. We all came away with a better sense of what Knox stands for and what makes our institution distinctive. I would encourage any independent college to take a close look at Peter Davis’ process.”

Roger Taylor, President, Knox College

“The Knowledge Corporation’s unique method of developing the institutional story based on focus group and key stakeholder interviews created the backbone for presetting the new vision of the college in a compelling way to prospective donors. I would recommend Peter Davis to companies or institutions with similar marketing needs.”

Gerald Wood, President, Defiance College

“First of all, as unexpected a process as it was, from our perspective your work with us was  a home-run for Art on Purpose.  You dared to think and act quite unconventionally, with an occasionally eyebrow-raising technique, and it paid off in spades. You’ve given us a road map that I am absolutely positive will have a huge impact on our organization over the next year and beyond.”

Peter Bruun, Artistic Director, Art on Purpose

“Peter offers a very unique (and real) process. It’s not intrusive and it helped me to clear up confusion around branding, and to better understand my organization and what visitors want from it.”

Cherrie Woods, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture

“Your approach, after gentle entre, is akin to a bolt of lightning in the best sense of shock and awe. You helped the Handel Choir participants focus their thinking, shed irrelevant distractions and get down to identifying, facing and embracing the essence of our organization. You know how to get down to the essence of what’s important.”

Melinda O’Neal, Artistic Director and Conductor, Handel Choir of Baltimore

Peter helped Single Carrot tremendously. He cares about more than just your success. He impressed us with rigorous research, creative solutions, and simplified, effective storytelling. Simply put, he helped us move forward with clear branding goals and choices. We were able to a develop specific, clear narrative for our previously complicated brand story. I think  it will not only help us acquire new patrons, but allow our current patrons the opportunity to identify with our organization as ‘family’ keeping them with us.”

Brendan Regan, Director of Public Relations, Single Carrot Theatre

There’s a through line to the feedback regarding the process. They have no references or assumptions that make the process “business as usual.” This temporary state of confusion provides the gap where a fresh new idea slips in, finds fertile ground and takes root.

The fact you have a testimonial from Knox College seals the deal in my book. You’re in.
